On the Hunt for success

Adam Hunt is the latest returnee from last season to confirm he will continue to offer his services as we return to the Ryman League after the summer break.

A highly versatile utility player, Hunt quickly adapted to fill the gap vacated in centre midfield by the departure of Jordan Clark to Worthing mid-way through the season. Despite a solitary goal all season during a 5-0 rout at Shoreham, ‘Hunty’ was a solid performer who’s reliability and energetic displays midway through the campaign saw him emerge as an early contender for Player of The Season amongst supporters.

Such performances were not lost on Dom Di Paola who was eager to retain the services of the hard-working utility man, who is comfortable either as a full back or defensive midfielder as the manager revealed to the club website why he was keen to secure the player for another season “Hunty is a hugely popular lad in the changing room and he had a very good season last year – for a few months midway I thought he was arguably our best player on the pitch and he gives us so much energy and desire who plays for the team and not himself. He’s got technical ability and is a great passer of the ball. He’s another player with a point to prove at a higher level and I have no doubts he will continue to be a fantastic player for us again”

Hunty himself echoed the thoughts of some of the other players who have this week confirmed they will be returning to the fold when he said Signing back for Horsham was an easy decision for me in the end, I love the lads, and I love the style of football the management is getting us playing on the park and I also love playing in front of the supporters who back us week in, week out, win or lose. I’ve said before about the fact Horsham supporters really care about this club and I’ve never played for a group of supporters like these ones, I love what they bring to the club!

The former Hastings United and Pagham man insisted he was eager to get started and hit the ground running next season as he continued “Dom and the management team always get the best out of me, and have spoken to me about what they expect from me next season. Mixed with the club being back where we should be I can’t wait for things to start!”
