Hornets denied win at Pilot Field thanks to late, late, equaliser
Horsham suffered a second successive loss in which they conceded five goals, having been eliminated from the FA Cup last weekend to Herne Bay, fellow Kent side Sittingbourne repeated the trick, this time in the league as Dom Di Paola’s side made it three defeats in as many games.
The Brickies went ahead in just the third minute, when Ben Gorham forced the opener following a corner, and they doubled their lead midway through the half when Mobolaji Dawodu beat Josh James during a one-on-one.
The second half continued in the same vain, as Sittingbourne raced into a 0-3 lead, before Rob O’Toole reduced the arrears, yet the guests added to their lead in the closing ten minutes, with Kane Phillip and Miles Cornwell completing the rout.
