Shoreham vs Horsham: MATCH PREVIEW

Desperate to get our league campaign back on track after four consecutive losses, we head to bottom-of-the-table Shoreham in search of a jumpstart to the season after a miserable September culminated in a 3-0 home defeat to Cray Wanderers on Saturday.

The trip to nearby Shoreham, will be the first away trip after playing our last five fixtures at home, and with Horsham having won only won game in the aforementioned quintet of fixtures, a trip on the road may well be a welcome change for Horsham fans with Culver Road proving an unhappy hunting ground as September drew to a close.

The Hornets have picked up just four league points since we last played The Musslemen, which was only as recently as August, while Tuesday’s hosts, despite being rooted to the foot of the table, have slightly improved their fortunes, picking up four points from their last four league outings, including a 1-0 win over highly fancied Greenwich Borough.

With Shoreham struggling to make an impact on their debut season in the Bostik League, Dom Di Paola will desperately be hoping his side can recapture the form that saw his side put four past Burgess Hill Town last week, and while the two sides meet again at Middle Road under different circumstances at a higher level than before, he will be hopeful his side can attempt to turn a corner against a side who have already conceded 27 times in just nine league matches.

Our last visit to Middle Road ended up as a 0-5 victory as Horsham marched onto the Southern Combination Premier Division title at the first time of asking. Goals on that day were shared equally between Evan Archibald, Terry Dodd, Darren Boswell, Adam Hunt and Harry Smith.

Kick off at Middle Road is at 7.45pm. Supporters are reminded that anyone who may face difficulties getting to any of our games this season (either home or away) can use the club’s Car Share Scheme. The scheme aims to encourage supporters who may be finding travel difficult this season and pair supporters with other fans making the same trip. Interested supporters can call 07526687526 and leave your name, number and address and someone will get back to you.
