Ashford United vs Horsham: MATCH PREVIEW
Second trip to Kent in a week for Hornets, who head to Ashford United on Saturday
Horsham another lengthy trip, once more to Kent, this time for a first competitive fixture against Phoenix Sports.
An unfamiliar club to The Hornets, this will only be the second occasion the two clubs have played each other, with the first ever meeting coming during pre-season in July 2015, in which Dom Di Paola’s side – having just won the Southern Combination Premier Division – emerged with a 3-3 draw, having trailed 3-1 with ten minutes remaining.
The Barnehurst based side were transferred over from the North to South division during the summer, after finishing 8th, but the change of scenery appears to have made little difference, with Sports currently in 11th position. Horsham will enter the tie as the ‘in-form’ side, having secured a point away on Tuesday evening at Herne Bay, on the back of two league wins on the bounce against Greenwich Borough and Hythe Town.
Sports meanwhile, have lost four from their last six league matches, most recently succumbing to a 1-0 loss away at title-chasing Lewis.
Visiting supporters should note, that parking at the ground will not be available to supporters, and that supporters can park at the school, opposite the ground.
Horsham kick off at 3pm.
