Divisional rivals enter liquidation
Horsham were, once again, left to rue the conceding of early goals as they went down 4-3 to Thamesmead Town in yesterday’s Bostik South Division clash at Culver Road. Despite starting on the front foot, against a side that had hit five past them in their previous encounter, Horsham found themselves trailing 2-0 inside the opening ten minutes through goals from Danny Parish and Leon Smith. The home side responded well, though, and enjoyed plenty of possession after that only to concede again, just past the hour, when Parish struck a stylish second. Tony Nwachukwu pulled one back, almost immediately, but sub Scott Kinch looked to have secured the points for the visitors when he headed in just a minute after coming on. There were just seven minutes left when Hakeem Adelakun netted his first goal for the Hornets but there was real excitement when Steve Metcalf reduced the deficit further, a minute from time. In a frantic finale, Nwachukwu had the ball in the net for what appeared to be a dramatic equaliser only to have the effort ruled out for handball.
