Hornets hope Rooks don’t nest for New Year’s Day clash

Horsham take on table topping Lewes in our first game of 2018, as The Rooks head to Culver Road and hope to cement their place at the summit of the Bostik League South.

Dom Di Paola’s side where brought back down to Earth with a bump on Saturday, when they fell to a 2-1 loss away at high flying Carshalton Athletic, and they will face another tough test against our Sussex rivals who appear to have got back on track with three back to back wins, following successive losses to Carshalton Athletic and Ramsgate earlier in December.

The Rooks enjoyed a 3-1 victory at The Dripping Pan on Saturday against South Park, with former Hornet Billy Medlock amongst the scorers, while George Landais and Jamie Brotherton make up two other former Horsham old boys amongst their ranks.

Horsham recorded a league ‘double’ over tomorrow’s visitors, with the last match coming exactly a year ago, when Lewis Hyde’s header and a wonder-strike from George Branford proved enough as Horsham held on to record a superb 1-2 win away from home in a bad tempered derby match.

Our match kicks off at 3pm.
