Match Report

Horsham 2 Lewes 1

Horsham got 2018 underway with an excellent 2-1 win at Culver Road as they made sure the league leaders returned home with nothing in a thoroughly entertaining game.

Dom Di Paola’s side got off to a perfect start, scoring twice within thirteen minutes, but were dealt a setback a minute before half time when goalkeeper Brannon Daly was stretchered off due to injury with outfield player Charlie Harris having to stand-in for the second half.

Lewes went about the second half intent on rescuing a point but were only able to pull one back through Ghassimu Sow’s fine strike just after the hour mark, but a determined and disciplined defensive display along with Harris’ brave performance in goal ensured Horsham held on for victory against our Sussex rivals.
