Ashford United vs Horsham: MATCH PREVIEW
Second trip to Kent in a week for Hornets, who head to Ashford United on Saturday
Horsham came from behind twice to retain a 100% record in 2018, as five goals in the first half settled this entertaining, if mistake laden encounter at Culver Road.
The Vickers broke the deadlock with fifteen minutes on the clock when Warren Mfula was allowed time and space at the edge of the box to place a smart finish beyond Josh Pelling, but Horsham responded well when they drew level five minutes later through Tony Nwachukwu who poked home after Mant spilled a cross under pressure from Joe Shelley.
Horsham then gave VCD the lead back in calamitous fashion barely three minutes later, when Steve Metcalf’s shocking backpass towards Josh Pelling caught out the Horsham goalkeeper who was helpless to prevent Mfula nipping in and slotting home.
Horsham dragged themselves level once again via Toby House, who composed himself to convert Nwachuckwu’s pass inside the six yard box as he tucked in off the post, and the hosts took the lead a minute before half time with Nwachukwu again providing the assist, this time setting up Darren Boswell who’s first time shot from the angle sealed all three points for The Hornets.
