New Director appointed
At Friday night’s AGM of Horsham Football Club Ltd, Paul Osborn was appointed as Commercial Director, succeeding Andy Thompson in the role. The board recognises that Horsham Football Club has a real opportunity to significantly increase the club’s commercial profile and income potential and, with this in mind, Paul will take the lead at board level for this process.
Paul has been doing sterling work for the club as a committee member, focusing on raising commercial income for the club, and took the lead role in co-ordinating the club’s hugely successful Christmas Draw that raised over a thousand pounds each for Horsham Football Club and Chestnut Tree House Childrens Hospice. In addition, the Club has benefitted from his hard work to secure matchday and matchball sponsorship for each of our matches at Culver Road this season. Reflecting on his appointment, Paul said “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to support the Club as we enter an exciting new phase in our history. Throughout my working life I’ve focused on helping businesses of all sizes, in both the public and private sectors, to improve their performance and in the role of Commercial Director I plan to work with the many national and local companies and organisations who I believe will want to be part of our ‘journey’ to become a genuine community Club that Horsham can be proud of.
For the first time in ten years the club will be able to enjoy the security of owning its own prestigious ground, and if we develop the commercial side of our activities by working closely with supporters, advertisers and sponsors, we will be able to add the ‘icing on the cake’ to that security. More revenue coming in will enable us to look at how the entire club can benefit to achieve increased ambitions both on and off the field.”
