Hornets inflict first league defeat on league leaders as Horsham bounce back with excellent win
Horsham fell to a 2-4 home loss to play-off chasing Walton Casuals, as The Hornets crashed to clubs’ 800th Isthmian League defeat.
The Hornets fell behind with half an hour played when Alex Kelly opened the scoring for the visitors, firing in from the edge of the box, before Youseff Bamba’s run and cool finish put the guests in control at the break.
Horsham rallied to pull a goal back through Alfie Rogers, cutely sweeping in at the near post, but Casuals soon restored their two goal cushion with Bamba racing through the defence and smashing past Pelling with another fine run and finish.
Referee Robert Ablitt gave Dom Di Paola’s side a lifeline with ten minutes remaining when he signalled for a penalty that Curtis Gayler converted, but Casuals secured the points late on, when Josh Kelly stroked home.
