Bumper crowd makes for a great night at Youth Awards Night
Find out who won what at the annual end of season celebrations
Around sixty players and fans got together to mark the end of another season at the annual player awards night last night. Held at Horsham YMCA’s clubhouse, everyone enjoyed a fine buffet from Horsham caterers Paninos before club secretary Jeff Barrett announced the first award of the night.
Having been revealed as the supporters’ player of the year after last week’s match with Whyteleafe, there was no surprise when Lewis Hyde stepped forward to receive his trophy from committee man Matt Dale (pictured above). Then it was the turn of Dom Di Paolo to announce the winner of the manager’s award, which went to Steve Metcalf, before the boss presented Jeff with a bottle of wine in appreciation for his hard work this season.
The Players’ Player award also went to Lewis, with physio Steph Apps handing the centre-half his trophy, before young striker Toby House was named as the Board’s choice by director Mark Butler.
In the final presentation of the night, long-serving committee man Howard Frogley was the worthy recipient of Frank King’s President’s award.
Following the awards, Sean Bravery and Mark Barrett hosted a raffle in which Roger Charman, Jeff Barrett and Joe Clarke won the main prizes although Mark could barely hide his delight at winning a box of chocolates.
Congratulations to all the winners.
The club would like to thank all those who came along to the evening, and to MC Dale for providing the music.
