Defender joins league rivals
Taylor hoping to help boost Hythe's play-off push
Former Lewes striker George Landais has agreed terms and will remain at Horsham Football Club for the 2018/19 campaign. Landais scored ten goals in twenty-five appearances for the Hornets last season, having initially come in on a month’s loan from the Dripping Pan club for what was his second spell at Horsham, having made his first appearance back in 2011.
As well as continuing to strengthen his attacking options, manager Dom Di Paola has also bolstered his backline by signing former Welling United defender Joey Taylor. The twenty-one year old came through the Welling Development Squad to make his full first team debut in 2014, going on to make thirty-six appearances for the National League side in two seasons. Taylor, who is no stranger to Isthmian League football having had loan spells at VCD Athletic, Burgess Hill Town and East Grinstead Town, is predominantly a left-sided player who can play at left-back or left midfield.
With ‘one or two more signings to come’, Di Paola has revealed that the majority of next season’s squad has now been finalised and consists of the following players:
Darren Boswell, Dean Bown, Alex Duncan, Charlie Farmer, Lee Harding, Charlie Harris, Jack Hartley, Toby House, Will Hoare, Lewis Hyde, George Landais, Steve Metcalf, Tony Nwachukwu, Rob O’Toole, Joe Shelley, Joey Taylor
Supporters can get an early sight of the squad when the Hornets play their first friendly of the summer on Monday night against Horsham YMCA. The match will take place at Steyning Town FC, kick-off 7.30pm, where there will be a flat admission charge of £3.
