Triumphant youngsters overcome pitch and opposition
Former Walton Casuals forward Tyrell Richardson-Brown (pictured) will be looking to achieve back-to-back promotions after electing to make the switch from the Stags to Horsham ahead of the new season. Richardson-Brown’s goals helped the Casuals reach the play-offs last season, and a tense final win at Corinthian-Casuals, but with the Surrey club being shunted into the Southern League, the ex-Kingstonian and Hastings man – who started out playing American football – has elected to join Dom Di Paola’s side for whom he capped an impressive first half display with a goal during Saturday’s defeat at Dorking.
Joining him in the amber and green are South Park duo James McElligott and Dean Lovegrove. McElligott can play at either full-back or in midfield and first played for the Sparks in the Combined Counties League before going on to have a spell at Horley Town, where he was voted Player of the Year in 2014, before returning to Whitehall Lane. Regular supporters might recall Lovegrove having made a handful of appearances for the Hornets back in 2007/8, on loan from Woking, before he went on to play in America. The defensive midfielder began his career at Milton Keynes, for whom he made a number of appearances for the reserve side, and has also had spells at Lewes and Chipstead.
We wish them all a long and successful career with the Hornets.
