Horsham 1 Bath City 2

National League South side Bath City proved a bridge too far for Horsham, who bravely bowed out of the FA Trophy as Jack Batten and a superb individual goal by Sean Rigg sent the Somerset side through at our expense.

The visitors took the lead in the tenth minute when Batten headed in off the post with a flicked header, but Charlie Harris restored parity before half time when he curled in a wonderfully taken free-kick around the wall and past sixteen year old debutant goalkeeper Harvey Wiles-Richards.

Despite Bath’s possession and quality, the visitors rarely tested Josh Pelling for long periods of the game, but there was little the Hornets shot stopper could do on sixty-seven minutes when Rigg cut inside from the left and curled in to cap a fine piece of solo skill and win the game.
