Premier Division striker returns to aid promotion push
Dom Di Paola has added extra firepower to his squad with the loan signing of Kieran Lavery from Dorking Wanderers. The striker formed a deadly partnership with current Hornet Chris Smith while both were at South Park, with his tally of more than two hundred goals for the Reigate-based club prompting Dorking boss Marc White to bring him to Meadowbank Stadium in the summer. “I’m very happy with the squad we have” admitted Di Paola “but when a player of Kieran’s ability becomes available, even if it’s just for a month, you’d be a fool to say no.”
The Hornets are set to play six matches in the next three weeks and, although in excellent form, Di Paola is mindful of the pressure such a hectic schedule could have on the current crop of players. “One or two are due to miss games over the next few weeks” the manager revealed “and Chris Smith won’t be back until next week so we’re hoping that Kieran can help us through this period of very tough matches”
Subject to clearance from the FA, Lavery should be set to feature in Saturday’s visit of Whitstable Town.
