Horsham 4 Whitstable Town 0

Horsham’s fourth consecutive league win was ensured during a fine second half display as The Hornets brushed aside The Osytermen at Culver Road.

Despite being goalless at the break, Horsham broke the visitors resolve three minutes into the second half when Stuart West headed into his own net from a Horsham corner, and the hosts doubled their lead less than ten minutes later when Charlie Harris’ cross was delivered into the box, missed everyone and nestled into the back of the net.

Horsham added a third eleven minutes before full time when substitute Lee Harding’s fierce cross was angled into the net in the far side netting, and there was still time for Harvey Sparks to cap a fine individual performance with a deserved goal, when he ran onto Joey Taylor’s excellent defence splitting ball, finishing low with the last kick of the game beyond helpless goalkeeper Dan Eason.

Matt Dale reports.
