Hop Oast update
A round-up of the progress so far, and our expectations for the future
Work is continuing apace at the new ground, with construction on target for completion in May, and we aim to be fully operational by the end of June. The roofs have been finished and screed laid on floors in the two buildings and internal fit out will be undertaken over the remaining time. The community pitch is complete but the final surface on the main pitch won’t be laid until all the building works have been done. The stands are installed and floodlight pylons erected.
We have been discussing with Horsham Golf & Fitness the continuing problems with golf balls from the driving range and are aware that they are taking action to ensure that there is no risk, once we start operations.
It is all getting very exciting, yet at the same time it is slightly scary as we get so close to having to run the new facility. There is no question: we really need YOUR help. We will be publishing shortly on this website a list of the roles for which we need to recruit volunteers if we are to have a club that functions effectively. There has been a good response so far but we are always looking for more help. If you would like to put your name forward please contact Sean Bravery on 07909 541134 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be delighted to have you on board.
Watch out for announcements on the launch programme for the new ground. We want all of you to be part of that.
