“I promised I would get him on television!”
John Maggs pays tribute to late president
As if playing in our own home, back in the town, after an eleven year absence isn’t enough to whet the appetite of Horsham supporters, today’s announcement of the make-up of the 2019/20 Bostik League Premier Division makes for exciting reading with three Sussex derbies, the renewal of friendly rivalries, and some brand new opponents.
We will, of course, be joined in the Premier Division by this season’s South East champions Cray Wanderers, along with the division’s other newcomers Cheshunt (South Central play-off winners), Essex-based Bowers & Pitsea (Division One North champs) and East Thurrock United who were relegated from the National League South last month. More locally, we will be reunited with Bognor Regis Town, Worthing and Lewes, while our furthest journey takes us to Brightlingsea Regent – a minimum four hour round-trip to north Essex. Last season’s proliferation of Kent clubs is reduced from twelve to just four while the north London pairing of Enfield Town and Haringey Borough complete the quintet of clubs we’ve yet to face in the league along with Potters Bar Town, Bowers & Pitsea, and Brightlingsea.
The full listing is as follows:
Bowers & Pitsea
East Thurrock United
Potters Bar Town
Wingate & Finchley
League fixtures are likely to be announced in early July
